England manager Tuchel: "My mother might find Bellingham's attitude repulsive."

England manager Tuchel: "My mother might find Bellingham's attitude repulsive."

During this international break, England played a friendly against Senegal, which Britain surprisingly lost 3-1. Jude Bellingham played only a minor role, coming on in the 71st minute, and even had a goal disallowed for handball.

After the match, England manager Thomas Tuchel was interviewed by TalkSport . In the interview, he spoke at length about the Real Madrid player. He commented on the importance of having him in the national team: " I think he has something special . He brings a competitive edge that we need if we want to achieve great things," said the German.

In the match against Senegal, Bellingham had a goal disallowed for handball. When the referee called for it, he got angry, kicked a water bottle , confronted the assistant , and even Kane had to calm him down. In Spain, he's had a few run-ins with referees, especially over their language.

The former Bayern Munich coach explained that sometimes he has to measure himself on the pitch: “ It has to be channeled. That energy has to be directed toward the opponent, toward our goals, not toward intimidating teammates or being aggressive with referees.” He explained: “We're working on it. He has that fire, and I don't want to extinguish it. That's his strength, but he also brings outbursts that can intimidate even teammates.”

Tuchel believes there's room for improvement: "If he can channel that energy, then he has that 'something' we need. He has an edge that's hard to find ," he insisted. The German coach revealed his mother's opinion when she sees the Real Madrid player's behavior: " My mother sometimes doesn't see the polite and kind boy I see. When he smiles, he wins everyone over, but sometimes you can see the anger and hunger in him, and that can be somewhat repulsive for someone like her in front of the television."

Finally, Tuchel wanted to play down the issue: "He's a good guy, very intelligent, very open, and easy to work with. I'm delighted to work with him."
